but usually the problem occure much earlier.
This is around 4.66GiB (or 4.34GB) which would be near the edge of the
disc.
After starting play with Ogle, if you stop it can you read that part
of the data?  I.e. try with dd
dd if=/dev/hdc of=/dev/null bs=2048 skip=2275170
let it run for a short while and watch for errors on consol or at system
messages in the log.

Also the output of dvd_test could be of help if nothing works out,
