Yes, it will work properly without any fiddling on 90% of the things
you are likely to throw at it. Bizarrely, there are a few kinds of
things that it fails utterly at, all of which can be done by using
Transcode with -x mplayer. Transcode with -x mplayer is the most
general solution, once you understand the filters that are used for
framerate converison. Note that mplayer and mencoder are almost
unrelated codebases, even though they are shipped together.
