Because of where I work, I'm not free to become attached to any
one scripting language. I'm *supposed* to consider long-term
support over the next 30 years for whatever I develop. 12 years
ago I thought Perl was the only way to go ;^)

Sorry, even though I maintain the wiki, I only ever really cared
about Transcode's ability to help me make dvd's, and never paid
much attention to it otherwise. Transcode has done SO much for me
that I feel obliged to maintain the wiki for as long as it's
considered useful.

Video EDITING?! Does Transcode support editing?! Jeez, I really am out
of the loop then.

Hence my suggestions, which were made in the spirit of minimising the
amount of toolkit related hacking that the GUI author would have to
deal with.
