in the ideal world we should be able to exchange the old, existing libmcf
with an updated one and could release all tools we built on this pretty
fast, so it absolutely makes sense to devlop MCF creation/editing tools with
what we have now, even if the resulting files are not MCF-1 specs compliant.

What worries me a bit is that still a lot of functions were not implemented
into libmcf, like Steve was telling me recently that video frames have to be
all keyframes ( not even P frames are allowed ?? ) as there is no flag set
for I/P/B frames in current libmcf ???

John, as you are not using libmcf, how did you manage to get I and P frames
into MCF now with your JMF tols ? How is it possible that the movies created
with Suiryc's moded Vdub play at all i wonder ? Are all frames treated as I
frames now ? Or is the frame flag only important for editing ?

We should seriously consider if it made sense to invest a little more time
into libmcf to add a few missing functions for testing, maybe even based on
actual specs, so that this portions of code can be used for the new libmcf
later. Is this feasible ?
