Hmmm ..... not unattractive. Has there been any work on the site lately ? I
will ask mf to look at it, maybe he has some good ideas on how to improve
it.

| Well as far as I am concerned my first goal was to
| integrate OGM support within VirtualDub (I already
| made CLI tools for creating OGM files, but a wonderful
| program like VirtualDub is far more interesting to
| play with ;) ).
| At user request (on virtualdub.everwicked.com) I was
| then proposed to add a PNG support : BMP files are
| fines, but PNG ones costs less bytes for same quality
| :)

How do you overcome the problem to seek to keyframes in the video stream ?
You jump to an arbitrary frame number and use the codec to decode each frame
until you found it ?

I have it on my to-do list to test the current implementation, but havent
done as of yet :-( ...

| Finally I joined pulco-citron (author of
| VirtualDubMpg2) and Belgabor (author fo VirtualDubAVS)
| in this SF project to build a better tool ;)

About MPEG2 : anybody thought about the licensing probs that could be
created for you guys ? MPEG2 decoding is still not free, and just because
there a few free sources in the net that can be used for this, this is not
the same as spreading binaries with it.

I dont want to be the bad nitpicker here, but i'd like to know if anybody
thought about this already ? Any discussion i missed ?

| Now that OGM / PNG integration is done (well there may
| remain bugs / problems, but important parts have been
| done) I am giving a look on other integrations within
| VirtualDub (like UCI and MCF).
| Of course the current state of those technologies
| (specs not frozen / libraries being developped) make
| this a bit slower / more difficult than other tasks,
| but still interesting to do ;)

Hmmm .. does that mean you finally have a source that will compile on
Windows with VC6++ ? Any chance to send the sources and the makefile to
uci-devel so Alex can upload to CVS ?

BTW : who is familiar with WinCVS and uploading source code ?? I see all
source are available there, i'd just like to know who uploaded them ?

Thanks for answering ... i know, too many questions ;-)

Regards

Christian
