[videolan-announce] VideoLAN and Google Summer of Code

Hello to all VideoLAN friends,


VideoLAN has been been selected as a mentoring organization for Google
Summer of Code 2008 for the second year in a row.

If you are a student, you don't have yet a summer job and have a good
knowledge in programming in C/C++/ASM, you can apply to the program and earn
$4500 for your work on open source projects.
You would be paid to improve your favorite media player "VLC media
player" or your favorite H.264 encoder: x264.

If you are interested, you can apply from March 24th to March 31st, on 
the Google Summer of Code website.
Please provide good ideas to improve VLC media player and x264 and get
more information on our wiki (http://wiki.videolan.org/SoC_2008_Rules).
