GSoC 2025 – Interest in Cloud Inte gration for Desktop

Hi everyone,

I'm Piyush, a Computer Science undergrad with a strong interest in
open-source development. I'm excited about participating in Google Summer
of Code 2025, and the "Cloud Integration for Desktop" project really stood
out to me.

I've started exploring the VLC and libcloudstorage codebases, and I'm
comfortable working with C++. I'm also familiar with Git and Google Cloud
Platform (GCP) and have worked on a few application-level projects before,
though this would be my first deep dive into a large open-source codebase.

Could you please guide me on how to get started — maybe through a small
patch, a suggested area to explore, or general expectations around the
proposal? I noticed Pierre is listed as a mentor for this project and would
really appreciate any input from the team.
