I've been contributing to the audio_filter module recently: - !8591: fix realloc() missing sizeof(float) in chorus_flanger (approved by maintainer) - !8596: fix linear interpolation in chorus_flanger delay buffer - !8583: use add_bool for bargraph and silence options While working on these, I've been studying VLC's audio filter architecture and I'm particularly interested in implementing a stereo to 5.1 upmix filter for GSoC 2026 =E2=80=94 similar to Prologic-II matrix decoding. This= would allow VLC users with 5.1 speaker setups to get a proper surround experience from stereo content. I believe this fits well within the Advanced Audio Filters project scope mentioned on the GSoC ideas page, specifically the upmixing task. Could the mentor (unidan) or anyone familiar with the project share thoughts on this direction? I'd like to align my proposal with the team's priorities before writing the full proposal. Thank you for your time and for the feedback on my MRs.
