cannot get vlc to play dvds

I used the .debs to install video lan client, and I
downloaded everthing that was needed and when I try to
play a dvd then I am told:
dvd warning: libdvdcss.so.1 not present
dvd warning: no valid libdvdcss found, I will only
play unencrypted DVDs
dvd warning: get libdvdcss at
http://www.videolan.org/libdvdcss/

I downloaded libdvdcss and still get that
