xine-lib 1-rc1 released

Hi all,

it's been a long time since the last release. However, the project was
definitely not dormant: xine-lib 1-rc1 fixes an enormous amount of bugs
compared to our other releases.

If you want to give it a try, get the latest release (1-rc1) from

  http://xinehq.de/index.php/download

You'll also notice that the list of new features is smaller than usual.
Most notably, you can save streams during playback. This gives you both a
file copy for quick, ressource saving repeated playback and the ability to
seek through media that wouldn't allow this. To invoke this new feature,
just add a "save" parameter to the MRL, as in

  xine http://somewhere.akamai.net/fafa123/abc.avi#save:/tmp/trailer.avi

This will stream the file (abc.avi) from akamai.net while saving it
locally as /tmp/trailer.avi at the same time. Once the complete file is
streamed, you can just seek back through the file using xine's position
slider. Of course, the local copy can be played just as any other avi
file.

  * initial id3v2 support (id3v2.3 and id3v2.4 are not yet supported)
  * Fix blocking on xine start when using alsa.

The next release (scheduled in 1...2 weeks) begins our "soft feature
freeze" phase. Features to be added in that phase have to be defined now.
So if you have a feature that must be added in xine 1.0, submit it now!
