This was created by hardware -- anyone remember the Sound Blaster 16 ASP? I
do, because I bought one, and subsequently regretted it because nothing, and I
mean absolutely NOTHING supported it except three things:

Creative personal recorder (recording app under Windows 3.1)
Creative editor (.WAV editing app under Windows 3.1)
Qsound demo

...and that's it. It was some sort of DSP, but they never provided an SDK for
the damn thing.

Anyway, the only thing I ever touched the ASP for was recording/playing ADPCM,
which the ASP did in hardware. I could be persuaded to hook it up and record
some samples if there is a need to RE this, but I would be surprised if there was.

Has anyone RE'd the original Sound Blaster 4-bit/3-bit/2-bit ADPCM on the
original Sound Blaster 8-bit cards?
