I'm not sure either as I don't know anything more than I have posted in the RFE listed above, I'm a regular user of xine but I've not even seen the code (as I don't know a lot of C/C++ anyway). But I guess you'll get xine people to give you (or point you to) an explanation of the hooks you can use. I guess the MP3 playback and the display can be done by xine somehow...
