You mean this (for initial check-out)?
hg clone ssh://<user>@xine.hg.sourceforge.net/hgroot/xine/xine-lib-1.2

If so, no problems: the SSH URL will be in .hg/hgrc in your copy of the
repository. (You can edit that file in an existing copy and it'll be fine.)

-vdpau is merged and we can use branches, so it's really only there for
