Ha, I didn't realize I could choose several deinterlace filters from the ui.
The field "deinterlace plugin" currently shows:
tvtime:method=linearBlend,cheap_mode=1,pulldown=0,use_progressive_frame_flag=1

Where could I find the docs for that particular plugin or a list of other
plugins I could try?

For now, I only tried removing the "cheap_mode=1" but that yields no visible
difference.

For reference, I have placed online a short sample video (~4MB) I encoded with
mencoder as mentionned previously:
http://timotheegroleau.com/storm_me_mpeg4_p2.mpg

(note: the sample video is of my cat and the lighting is poor, please don't
pay attention to the quality :p)

Thanks,
Tim.
