compiled xine-ui now xscreensaver problems

Hi,

I compiled xine-ui with the hopes of getting a little better 
performance.  I think it did improve things but now xine is not keeping 
xscreensaver at bay.

I running Ubuntu FF.  The apt-get package keeps xscreensaver happy but 
my home rolled xine-ui does not.  What is the difference??
