Xine "audio CD playback stops" bug report

Hi,

I have a problem with audio CD playback on fedora 7 using both Xine
(from livna - versions further below) and totem with one of my two DVD
drives, and yet the gnome cd player works fine with both of them (uses
/usr/libexec/CDDBSlave2). "cdparanoia" also works fine with both drives.

The problem symptoms are these:
1. Pressing the xine CD button to start playing does work but you first
hear audio after about 145 seconds of CD activity (???)
2. The behaviour is similar irrespective of what CD I use
3. After the audio starts playing, within seconds it stops again and
doesn't continue
4. Totem gives similar broken results (since it uses xine libraries).

Given that multiple other softwares don't seem to have any trouble
reading the CDDA data from the disk, this seems to be something unique
to xine.

The drive that has troubles is this one (PIONEER PATA) which is /dev/scd0:
ata3: PATA max UDMA/133 cmd 0x000101f0 ctl 0x000103f6 bmdma 0x00012060
irq 14
ata3.00: ATAPI: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-K14RA, 1.00, max UDMA/33

The drive that works fine is this one (LG brand connected via USB) which
is /dev/scd1:
scsi 6:0:0:0: CD-ROM HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4082B A201 PQ: 0 ANSI: 0

The permissions on the devices are:
brw-rw----+ 1 dcampbel disk 11, 0 2007-09-06 08:31 /dev/scd0
brw-rw----+ 1 dcampbel disk 11, 1 2007-09-06 15:23 /dev/scd1

I'm running latest fedora 7 with xine from livna using these packages:
    # rpm -q -a | grep xine
    xine-lib-extras-nonfree-1.1.7-1.lvn7
    xine-0.99.5-1.lvn7
    xine-lib-1.1.7-1.fc7
    xine-lib-extras-1.1.7-1.fc7
    totem-xine-2.18.2-1.lvn7
    totem-xine-plparser-2.18.2-1.lvn7
