Hi Darren,
I copied and pasted your command line and I did not edit it.
It is not clear to me why the single quote marks appered.
I retried it without the double quotes. Same output.
Only difference is I updated to xine-lib 1.1.8. To no avail.
Output file attached.

Also, lynx is indeed installed:
$ type lynx
lynx is a tracked alias for /usr/bin/lynx

Guess I have to wait for 1.1.9.

What happened here? I typed "$(...)", not '$(...)'... :-\
