video driver order issue

Kubuntu 7.04, tried opengl once, after that I had a weird issue: when Xv was
occupied (only one Xv overlay on ATi cards) xine used to use Xshm then, now
it kept using opengl instead.
Wanted the old behaviour back, so I hacked ~/.xine/config
from
# video driver to use
# { auto dxr3 aadxr3 xv opengl SyncFB xshm none xxmc sdl fb xvmc },
default: 0
#video.driver:auto
to
# video driver to use
{ auto xv xshm dxr3 aadxr3 opengl SyncFB none xxmc sdl fb xvmc },
default: 0
video.driver:auto
Well, when starting xine (given Xv is busy) - it still starts with opengl.
While it still runs, the config still has my alterations.
After quitting xine - the old entry is *back*!
What's going on here?
