I wouldn't use anything above X1050 just yet...

This looks like the usual problem with ATI's drivers - tell them, not us.
(You should find that xvinfo and xvattr fail similarly.)

Anyway, try some other xine-lib video driver: opengl may work, xshm should
work. (Use xine's -V option to tell it which to use.)

You could try the radeonhd driver:
