Hello! Mythtv has a good deinterlace filter taken from mplayer called yadif. Quality examples: http://guru.multimedia.cx/deinterlacing-filters/ I use VDR to watch live tv and would like to use yadif deinterlace filter for vdr-xine or vdr-xineliboutput.
