A blue playback window normaly means a broken XVideo extentsion in the 
graphic card driver. Use the xshm video output plugin and look for a 
update for youre graphic card driver.

And there never ever where broken drivers on Windows or Mac...

It's not a xine problem, when the driver of your graphic card doesn't 
work correctly.
