Ok, I've directly loaded a .wmv into the browser and the xine-lib plugin plays it correctly, so it may be an issue of that specific website. Unfortunately it is not an English speaking website, if you would like to test it, it is http://www.zdf.de/ZDFmediathek (pop ups need to be allowed) and if you visit it, a pop up site appears, if you click on the dark orange arrow, a video tries to load (takes some time) and asks what player to use "Windows Media Player" is used for the Xine plugin, "Einstellungen speichern" means "save settings" and then click "übernehmen" (="accept") and the video *should* start after some time, in my case it does not...
