I noticed today that my KNotify4 process had a few hundred threads open when it crashed. Having that many threads open is likely a bug with KDE, but the cause of the crash appears to be in xine's pulseaudio plugin: #0 0x00110416 in __kernel_vsyscall () #1 0x00c44460 in raise () from /lib/libc.so.6 #2 0x00c45e28 in abort () from /lib/libc.so.6 #3 0x0096c88b in pa_context_set_state_callback () from /usr/lib/libpulse.so.0 #4 0x04a30471 in pa_stream_flush () from /usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.24/xineplug_ao_out_pulseaudio.so #5 0x04a31823 in pa_stream_flush () from /usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.24/xineplug_ao_out_pulseaudio.so #6 0x0362f9b3 in xine_open_audio_driver () from /usr/lib/libxine.so.1 #7 0x009f4e3c in QByteArray::number () from /usr/lib/kde4/phonon_xine.so #8 0x009f994b in QByteArray::number () from /usr/lib/kde4/phonon_xine.so #9 0x077a9136 in callSetOutputDevice () at /home/trever/Projects/kde/kdesupport/phonon/phonon/audiooutput.cpp:49 #10 Phonon::AudioOutputPrivate::setupBackendObject (this=<value optimized out>) I was basically messing with KNotify by spamming it with a ton of sound notifications. Once the number of threads got over 100, it crashed. If I don't abuse knotify, this bug never happens :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.net email is sponsored by: SourcForge Community SourceForge wants to tell your story. http://p.sf.net/sfu/sf-spreadtheword _______________________________________________ xine-user mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/xine-user
