I'm trying to build the latest Gxine from source (since the package that ships with Ubuntu Karmic is painfully buggy.) But I've run into a show stopper. It seems there's a problem with the libmozjs-dev package, which cannot be installed without removing Firefox. Not a problem, I figure, since all I want for Christmas is a working, stand-alone dvd and vob file player. I try: ./configure --without-browser-plugin --without-spidermonkey --disable-mozjs --disable-ffjs --disable-seajs --disable-deprecated But configure still exits with: configure: using path -Ino for spidermonkey checking for jsapi.h... no configure: error: libjs not found Is there something more than I can do? or another Front End you can suggest? (Kaffeine no longer even lets you configure or enable de-interlacing, and Xine UI tends to lock up X when scrolling dialogue choices in the Configuration UI, a problem that I've had with all versions since 2007!, not to mention that I can't find where to configure it's de-interlacing to use pulldown/film mode) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Planet: dedicated and managed hosting, cloud storage, colocation Stay online with enterprise data centers and the best network in the business Choose flexible plans and management services without long-term contracts Personal 24x7 support from experience hosting pros just a phone call away. http://p.sf.net/sfu/theplanet-com
