xine AND underrun

I use linux and xine-ui-0.99.5 .
'xine' uses xine-lib-1.1.17 .
xine-lib uses alsa-lib-1.0.22 .

 1. I insert a music CD in the tray.
 2. I call 'xine'.
 3. I press the CD playback button.

No underrun audible.

 4. I press the eject button to open the tray.
 5. I press the eject button to close the tray.
 6. I press the CD playback button.
 7. Underrun is audible.

The underrun is audible even when I start 'xine' with an empty tray:
I then open the tray, insert a disc, close the tray and start 'xine'.
Underrun!

This means: each disc change causes an underrun.

Underrun is caused by EPIPE. Is this

 8. a kernel problem ? (linux-2.6.32)
 9. a device problem ? (HL-DT-STDVD-RAM GH22 of LG Electronics)
10. an alsa-lib problem ? (alsa-lib-1.0.22, CMI8768 chip)

'alsaplayer' suffers from the same hiccups after a tray open/close.
