playlist + external subtitles

Hi

How to play a playlist (--playlist) with external subtitles? I tried 2
things but neither of them works.

1. The command line syntax:

xine myvideo#subtitle:mysubs

seems to work for individual video files but not for playlists!

2. xine-ui HANGS when I try to open a subtitle file from a right-click
menu (open -> subtitle...).
