Thanks Jon. I'm giving it a try. If you have a link to any step by
step instructions about getting to an mp4 please post them back. I've
found a couple in Google that I'll try later today.

Here's what I tried: I put a DVD in the drive, switched to an empty
directory and after looking at the rather terse help output ran

dvdbackup -F

This ran, create a bunch of files under the name of the DVD but so far
I can't get handbrake to recognize more than a 20 minute chunk of the
movie. There were messages about bad blocks and other things, but
dvdbackup didn't die like Handbrake.

What I'd like to get to is just an mp4 of the movie. I don't need any
other features from the DVD.

Thanks in advance,
Mark
