(I have accidentaly answered only to your e-mail adress, so I write it
again in this mailing list:)

I know everyone does prefer something different, but try that combo I
wrote you before. Also be aware that old XviDs did have some bugs,
that's why you can play in ffdshow with various settings regarding the
iDCT (miscellaneous menu). Try different settings. (I assume you try to
play back files encoded by XviD, don't you? Do you know how old they
are and how they were encoded?)
Also put down your hardware configuration too and (maybe) someone will
help you.
