Yes, I did pass -sb option and it still needed the FPS value. It still would 
not start from the intented point though no matter what value is specified. 
It would always start from the same place. I reckon your diagnostics is 
pretty much correct.

However, using -ss yielded better results. At least I could forward beyond 
the crash point and view from there on. Most of the file was viewable by 
forwarding this way beyond crash points (crashed 5-6 times). Is there a way 
to save those?

No luck, outputs a file same size of the original which is plagued by the 
same problems.
