Jakob Nielsen's Alertbox for November 12 is now online at: > http://www.useit.com/alertbox/content-strategy.html Summary: Information foraging shows how to calculate your content strategy's costs and benefits. A mixed diet that combines brief overviews and comprehensive coverage is often best. ---------------------------------- User Experience 2007 conference > Las Vegas, December 2-7 31 full-day tutorials 2 keynotes: e-commerce, the state of usability Full program: > http://www.nngroup.com/events ---------------------------------- BARCELONA UPDATE We just finished the first of this year's User Experience conferences, in Barcelona, Spain. The local ham is yummy, and it was nice to go for a walk by the Mediterranean after lunch without needing an overcoat. (Of course, it'll be even warmer in Las Vegas.) Pleasant as the environment was, it was striking that the problems people raised were exactly the same as those we see in the U.S. and in London. The great majority of user experience questions are universal. A few participant comments from the conference feedback forms: "I wish I had the chance to attend this years ago." Aine Doris, Cisco "I had a very productive and enjoyable session with Jakob and his team. The presentations throughout were clear, engaging and informal. Although the day covered a broad range of user experience topics, the team were always open to questions, enabling the audience to probe deeper if necessary." Danny Somekh, Bostock and Pollitt Ltd. "Very useful and great information for web architecture." Daniela Weinstein, CyberCenter.cl "Definitely an essential course for everybody involved with websites. ... Short intensive course about everything you always wanted to know about websites! I'm updated again." Stephen Delvoye, Bekaert NV "A very stimulating and informative day and three excellent presenters, thank you." Liz Worthen, London Gifted and Talented "This was a really brilliant session - providing fantastically useful, practical tools to help create excellent UX ... so much here that I plan to use with my team. I could not recommend this more."
