1999 Designing Web Usability Book Revisited
If you read German, OBJEKTspektrum has an interesting new analysis
of my book from 1999, Designing Web Usability. The author extracted 400
design guidelines from the book and deemed 95% to be still valid.

Even though Designing Web Usability is still a good book, I
actually prefer that people read my newer book, Prioritizing Web
Usability, because we now have better ways of analyzing and explaining
user behaviors, even if they are largely the same as they have always
been. (Also, the screenshots are newer and better.)

Australian TV Olympic Coverage
I have been in Australia for a few days, getting over the jetlag before
Usability Week Sydney opens today. I must say that the Australian TV
coverage of the Olympic Games is vastly superior to NBC's coverage in
the US. Even the coverage of the Australian women's team winning bronze
in water polo was more exciting (a nailbiter of a game).
Why? I think it's because they focus on what's engaging about sports:
the athletes doing their stuff.
