Jakob Nielsen's Alertbox for August 15 is now online at:
Summary:
Measuring the live impact of design changes on key business metrics is
valuable, but often creates a focus on short-term improvements.
This near-term view neglects bigger issues that only qualitative studies
can find.

New address:
Nielsen Norman Group headquarters has moved to 48105 Warm Springs Blvd.,
Fremont, CA 94539. This building is notable in Silicon Valley history for
housing the first Macintosh manufacturing line in 1984. It's symbolic for
larger trends that Macs are no longer made in Silicon Valley and that
there's now a usability firm at this historic address.
