Hello everyone,
I've recently been tasked to managing the content for a business that sells
mechanical components. There are many PDFs scattered throughout the site
that contain part information. This information consists of pictures,
tables, and very little text. I was wondering it's good for SEO to convert
those PDF's to web pages...meaning I take all the content from the pdfs and
lay them out on a page. Then I would include the pdfs as a printer friendly
version. I know this is good for usability, since a PDF is not site
navigation. But is it good for SEO? And if I do this, do I need to tell
crawlers to quit indexing pdf's so they don't show up in search results (I
would want the user to see the web page result, not the pdf result.)
Thanks for any input,
Justin Lui
