hmmm ... yes, a bug.

two issues,

  - indices are butt ugly in cthumb. they are embarrasing, basically.
  - they don't do proper replacement of accents, etc.

i wanted to first separate the indices for all the languages, but i am
still searching for ideas that are not server- or platform-specific
(generating an XYZ-en.html and XYZ-es.html, say, for english and spanish).
this probably does not work when burning cdroms.

aside from that, we need to created a model of a decent-looking index.
it could have themes (one of the existing ones, or a fixed one for now).
having, say, the first image thumbnail in the group be used for "indicating"
the group, along with the title. now ... about languages?
all titles, one after another?
