At least from the IBM i perspective: there's no other TLS
library available. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to
port a different one.

I think a lot of people use other HTTP libraries (HTTPAPI
or the newer IBM provided one), or they use AIX curl from
PASE (IBM also provides a build of this). The former is
what people wanting to do it from RPG use, the latter if
you don't mind some clumsy CL stuff or your software ran
in PASE anyways.
