That did the trick. I changed the setAttribute line to:
newSpan.onclick=3D function() {eval(win_name+".focus()");}
I'm hoping the use of eval is ok. Some people don't seem to like it but it'=
s the only way I=20
could get this to work when I put my addtomenu function in a loop and pass =
it new string=20
values for win_name.
It still didn't work right when I put a for loop in the addtomenu function.
Say I have my script run twice. The first time it adds Google and the secon=
d Yahoo. It would=20
open both windows and add both to the menu, but no matter which item on the=
menu I=20
clicked it would focus on the same window. It was either the first or last =
window to open; I=20
don't remember. So clicking on Google would focus on the Yahoo window and c=
licking on=20
Yahoo would focus on the Yahoo window.
I was able to "fix" this by taking my for loop out of the addtomenu functio=
n and having the=20
for loop call addtomenu. Any thoughts why it would work this way and not th=
e other way?
