Anyway, I didn't get any reply from the experts on this list
for this question yet. So, I'm asking this question again.
Any one has any experience with successfully replace Apache2's
error page for "Internal Server Error"?

Hello jancha and all,

I tried as jancha suggested and created a few custom error
page in Apache2 and set them up in .htaccess. The page that
handles 404 error works well. However, whenever I get 500
"Internal Server Error" I still get the ugly page generated
by Apache. How come Apache does not load the custom page
in this case?

BTW, I suppose I could also set up error pages in httpd.conf
but I am not sure if I know how to do it correctly so I choose
to use the .htaccess in htdocs. Could this be the reason?
