Writing dynamic pages

I've been away a while so I must have forgotten this.  I have fastcgi 
running on lighttpd server.  When you access the dynamically created web 
page on localhost, my page is displayed in the browser and I'm very 
happy with it.  I have a link on this 'index' page.  If you click on the 
link, it should send you to another dynamically created page on this 
same server.  The thing I've forgotten is this: how do I create this 
second page?  Is it another app?  Does my 'index' app handle the request 
and hand it off?  I'm just at a loss as to what to do. 

I did create another app called SecondPage but when you click on the 
link in the index page, the browser wants to download it.  So now I'm 
not sure if it's a server setting or something I'm not thinking about in 
fastcgi. 

Can someone get me started in the right direction?  Thanks.
