I'm looking for a http server that is also FastCGI compatible and, I
wonder if you members from this list could tell us your opinion about
the one(s) you use out there.

My requirements are :

- FastCGI compatible is essential, of course.
- As for FastCGI, it would be nice if it keeps the connections with the
FastCGI server. That is, if it has some sort of "keep-alive" between the
http server itself and the external FastCGI server. This is not
essential but desired.
- SSL IS A MUST. Better if it's based on OpenSSL support.
- Needs to be fast, reliable and secure, capable of dealing with
approximately 300 K requests (hits) per day. Therefore, a professional
demand.
- Server (PROduction side) is a W2K machine but it would be nice to be
able to run it on XP as well, for test and development purposes. Running
on Linux would be nice but this is not a must. Rather, got to run
perfectly fine on Windows.
- It is almost a must to have something like X-SENDFILE from Lighty
(http://blog.lighttpd.net/articles/2006/07/02/x-sendfile) or
mod_xsendfile from Apache
(http://celebnamer.celebworld.ws/stuff/mod_xsendfile/).

The ones I've seen (and tested superficially) so far are :

- Apache - seems too complicated (heavy) and not well suited for Windows
but, it's my "least worst" choice.
- Lighty - http://lighttpd.net, seems very good but does not even have a
Windows version yet. IOW, not Windows mature.
- IIS - people say that version 5, which also runs on XP, is very, very
bad regarded to security. Version 6 would oblige me to upgrade my server
to Windows 2003, what would cost me something. Also, version 6 will not
run on Windows XP.
- Abyss - (http://www.aprelium.com/) seems very nice but doesnt have SSL
yet.

After all, can U tell us what do you use ?

As for leaving Windows, well, I cant (no, I'm not a M$ stock owner, just
in case you may be thinking that - I've sold mine !).

Thank you so much !
