Re: FTL use-cases

I know that S2 builds in support for FM for view rendering, but in our shop
that was a cultural hurdle I did not have the life energy to push, largely
because that would have required serious effort - side-by-side investigating
reporting, remote evangelising, and time. So we still suffer with JSTL and
S2 tags (yes they do a lot of nice things, but they also tend to complicate
the simple things like conditions).

So FM for me has remained largely a code-generating tool; originally
home-grown, later customizing Appfuse's appfuse-maven-plugin code generator.  

More recently I am using it in a generic data processor as a macro language,
to do things like simple string formatting (full names, date ranges, address
blocks) and math expressions (e.g. calculating total income and expenses).

FM is a great tool IMHO - I'm a big fan!
