Hold on, where have you seen this stated? If that's true, than the only
reason Galeon wasn't included as the default browser in most desktop
OS's is that it was too complicated?

As far as I understand, Mozilla was the default in a lot of
distributions, and it's just as, if not more, complicated as Galeon.
Just an observation.
