Problem with plugins and mozilla head (1.2b vintage)

I have compiled mozilla from 20 Oct (ie after plugins and xft landed),
applied patch from galeon head.

When I start mozilla as my normal user it starts fine but whenever I try
to access any flash site it diesd immediately with the following message
at the console

In addition it will not start as root (segfault)

This is built with gcc2.96 (compat from RH8)
