Unfortunately it's not.  They are always 1/7th of the window width, but
minimum of x pixels wide (x is a non-configurable number in the source.)

I feel that the current tab width calculation is suboptimal; it works
for some window sizes, the minimum width makes it work for narrow
windows as well, but it's failing with wide windows.

The galeon1 way might work better.  Or the way mozilla does it.  Or
not.  I don't know, someone would need to make a comparison.  Any
takers?
