Possibly by setting some more prefs in prefs.js.  I wouldn't know, I've
never set the master password.

The file might, but the directories above it are not accessible by
anyone but the user.  It's not as bad as you think it is, but granted it
could be better.

And as with everything else around here, if someone wants a feature,
someone has to do the work for it.  It'll most likely happen faster if
you write a patch ;)

Umm, it would appear there's not that much demand for the feature
anyway, or else http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65668
should've been fixed a looong time ago.
