I think it's safe to say we're considering it, no promises on any
delivery date, though.  "It'll happen sooner if you help" ;)

Enabling keyword search gives really surprising results if you try to
connect to a server which is down.¹  Anyway, soon I'll be changing the
keyword search so that it can be enabled, at least from about:config or
prefs.js for starters.  (Actually you can use about:config already, it
just will get disabled again the next time you start galeon.)

FWIW, you can always use '?' as the nick for your favorite search
engine..  Or 'g' for google.  (That really should be in the default
bookmarks, actually.)
