Mozilla has done The Right Thing whenever I tried it.  I see
statements to the contrary in the bug listed below but it has worked
for me.  Mozilla-firebird also does it right and Galeon used to do it
right.

The original gnome.org bug was entered on 2002-12-07 and a Debian bug
#183122 opened on 2 Mar 2003 has been folded in.

Does the comment from Philip Langdale suggest that one should be
expecting a fix any time soon?  If so, what might 'soon' mean?
