See debian bug number 212436. I've been trying numerous things. Things
broke around when I installed mozilla-1.4-r4, but since then I've tried
-r3 and the same problem persists.

I've backed off on my glibc versions, with and without nptl, etc.

I'm starting to think it has something to do with core gnome libs like
ORBit2 or something.
