adobe acrobat reader

I have installed the adobe reader 5.08 to my Redhat 9.0
According to Mozilla,s help,to use it as a plug in, I have to copy the
nppdf.so to the plug in directory of Mozilla-1.2.1 directory. That's
easy to do. It also mention a copy of the acroread should be in the
PATH. Would you kindly instruct me how to perform this?
