Has any thought been given to have galeon run on architectures other than
Intel x86. Specifically, I am trying to get galeon to run on the x86_64
(AMD64) 64 bit architecture.

My system is an ASUS SK8V with an Opteron 140. I am running the Fedora Core 1
x86_64 preview which is mostly 64 bit programs although there is some support
for running 32 bit applications. galeon is 1.3.11a

1. A lot of the gnome libraries required by galeon are available in only 64
bit versions so that running the 32 bit version of galeon is not an option.

2. Something about the way galeon ./configure is set up (or works) requires
that I run ./configure with LDFLAGS=-L/usr/lib64 since otherwise the 64 bit
code tries to use the 32 bit libraries.

3. After building and installing 64 bit galeon, I find that a number of
things do not work correctly --

-- accessing http://galeon.sourceforge.net/ causes galeon to crash

-- although the "Smart Bookmarks Toolbar" and the "Personal Toolbar Folder"
have the "Create a toolbar for this folder" checked in their properties, no
toolbar is displayed.
