It did that?!  I can't figure out how that can be rationalized except by
'because we can' :)  The right-click context menu should be enough
considering how often tabs are cloned and the weirdness factor =)

This has been possible as long as I can remember (which doesn't go much
further than previous month's CVS) :)

IMHO the dynamic tab width (as it's currently working) works only for a
very narrow range of resolutions.  To function properly it would need
some maximum limit in addition to the minimum that already exists.  But
then I feel the number and/or the width of the tabs in a given window
would become quite random.

Anyway, I like fixed width tabs.  I have made a patch for that a long
time ago, but every time this issue is raised I fail to remember why it
hasn't been committed to CVS yet.

It's not thrown away, it was never in 1.3.  For one reason or another,
Galeon 1.3 was rewritten to be architecturally more sane.  Everything
that was in 1.2 must be brought back, but before that we're figuring out
if things could be done better.
